Dr. Ikhwan Naim Md Nawi is a Senior Lecturer at the Physics Department, Centre of Foundation Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Selangor, Malaysia. He obtained his PhD in Physics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2016, specializing in numerical simulations of all-optical switching in silicon-on-insulator microring resonators. He also holds an MSc in Physics from UTM, awarded in 2010 with Best Student Award, and a BSc (Hons.) in Industrial Physics from the same institution.
Since joining UiTM in 2011, Dr. Ikhwan has dedicated his career to research and teaching in the field of physics and nonlinear photonics. His research focuses on Kerr nonlinearities, microring resonators, dissipative Kerr solitons, and microcomb technologies for next-generation optical communication and data-center interconnects. Dr. Ikhwan’s scholarly impact includes 346 citations (h-index: 8) on Google Scholar and 82 citations (h-index: 5) indexed in Scopus. His academic contributions span optical switching, soliton microcomb generation and photonic device modeling and simulation.
